About Me
Pretend scientist. Real time traveler. Smelly cheese enthusiast... Well, the usual.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
That's quite a lovely story. When I moved to the Netherlands, I didn't know anyone at all. As much fun as it was to be sitting alone in my room, drinking wine and listening (occasionally dancing too) to "All by myself", I decided that meeting new people wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. So I checked a few facebook groups in Enschede (the city I was living in) and found couchsurfing. I believe a day after I joined the monthly meeting and talked with some amazing people for hours. Had never heard about couchsurfing before, but after that first meeting I was hooked - kept going to the meetings ever since. After a year of meetings, I have made friends from all over the world, had so many adventures that most people have in 20 years.
Interests
They change quickly. Or expand, I guess would be the more correct statement.
Currently I am obsessed with archery. I'm still a real newbie at that, but well, a pretty good one. Will probably brag about that when we meet - just can't help it, too proud of that.
I also love traveling. Buy a ticket to another place - any country, any city. When there, take a turn to some random street, get lost in the city. I remember once I was walking around in a park in Berlin, heard some music, tried to follow it and ended up in a small rock music concert. It was pretty magical.
Books - another form of traveling. Favorite book is 'Three Comrades' by E. M. Remarque. Still can't figure it out why I love this one in particular, but I always reread it after a few months or so.
Criminology. Been studying that by myself on and off ever since I was like twelve.
All kinds of brain teasers.
Then goes a lot of random interests. I would like to learn more about history; martial arts; cooking; brain activity; scuba diving; creative writing.
Not sure if suddenly wanting to paint a bunch of daisies at 3 in the morning counts, but if does, then... well... painting.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am pretty sure my favorite movie or song will change faster than I update my profile.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was in first or second grade, two of my friends and I decided not to tell our parents and go to McDonald's in the city. I made and we all 'signed' a contract, still have it. Think at the end we got lost and I cried. But was absolutely awesome.
I gave blood more than 10 times, which is about 5 liters. Which is about 100 shot glasses. Just making it easier to imagine.
