Overview
About Me
Hej everyone, I’m Björn :) I grew up near Hamburg in the north of Germany but I feel home at many places in this world.
I would describe myself as curious and interested in many things. I like learning from people and new places, getting to know different ways of life and benefiting from the wisdom that these people and places share.
In the past years, I’ve lived in many places - most of them just for a couple of months but still I’m always on the move. This is probably not a way of life I can imagine till the end of my life but for now and before I settle, I want to see as much of the world as intensely as possible.
I’m very sociable most of the time but every now and then I value some moments for meditation. In this sense, I’m enjoying life - easy-going, open-minded and open-heartedly :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is one of the most authentic ways of traveling in this globalized world. Most of all, I enjoy it because it allows hosts and guests to exchange and learn from each other in a way that regular travels don’t allow.
Interests
As mentioned above I’m eager to expand my knowledge in many areas. I’m very much interested in languages as a means of communication across peoples and cultures.
Since I worked as a barista, good coffee is a passion of mine. But I also enjoy good wines and good food - especially discovering new dishes from foreign cuisines.
I’m also interested in politics and history which, in my opinion, are both important aspects of human living-together. In history, we can learn from past mistakes, while politics affect everyone of us (whether we like to admit it or not).
I also listen to a lot of music. Music is one of the most creative and beautiful ways of expressing emotions, yet it is universal and understood all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Ethnic Electro (with Indian, Brazilian, South American influences), Jazz, Electronic, Alternative and many more ...
Movies / series: Game of Thrones, Captain Fantastic, productions by Wes Anderson. Also many more...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climb the snow-covered Etna in sneakers ... now I'm not sure if that was amazing or stupid but I didn't have any other shoes with me :D
Another thing I’m quite proud of is that I gave free German lessons to refugees in Germany. I felt like the atmosphere in Germany became quite hostile against the people who were fleeing their home countries and I wanted to make a difference.
Teach, Learn, Share
These are classics, but they're true: Memento Mori - Carpe Diem!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Hm... this really depends on the host I would say. Cooking skills, yoga and good vibes maybe :)
