Overview
About Me
Hi :)
I'm a researcher doing my PhD in psychology, and I also lecturer at uni.
I'm a really openminded person. No posing here, I complete once a year personality questionnaires (the serious scientific ones) and my openness scores are always outliers, so I can be very understanding and flexible.
I love the science of human behavior, and also love mindfulness and Buddhism. Of course, I meditate (less often that I want). Also, I love deep conversations.
I'm deeply in love with music, and can play viola, violin, guitar, percussion and some basics of piano (no wind instruments yet, sorry). My singing skills are just decent. Would love to make some music together.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Sometime a year I travel to scientific conferences, and also for pleasure. When I travel I want the most accurate experience of being in the country I'm visiting, so what is better than staying with locals?
I enjoyed very much the times I hosted friends and colleagues, and got very good feedback of my skills as tourist guide and host.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
I love music with all my heart.
I had clasical music education for 15 years, sometime I play my viola in orchestras, and I've been a metalhead since 13 (hello contrast).
Now I'm discovering new genres and enjoying them so much (synthwave, jazz fusion, progressive house, djent, etc.)
Films:
Typical nerdy taste (star wars, LOTR, Akira, Ghost in the shell (love some good anime), Matrix, etc.).
Some directors I love: Kubrik, Tarantino, Nolan, von Trier.
Selected jewels: Vampyr, Pink Flamingos, Blade Runner, Saló, Metropolis, Fight Club.
I love scary and sci-fi films.
Books:
All Terry Pratchett's books.
Sci-fi (Asimov, Phillip K Dick, Orson Scott Card, Lovecraft).
Now exploring graphic novels: Alan Moore's work is lit (Watchmen, Neonomicon, Providence), also Hellblazer (love Constantine's character and atmosphere), and Crossed (Garth Ennis)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Having a beer in the pub were DNA's discovery was announced (The Eagle, Cambridge) while doing an internship.
- Exploring the suburbs and bridges in Madison, Wisconsin, by bike right after Halloween (cold, peaceful, sunny, delicate, awesome).
- Being lost at the Laursilva forest in Tenerife (is a high-mountain protected area with jurassic-era trees, haunting and beautiful), then end up in a fisherman's village having dinner with the sunset, waves and some rum.
- Most diverse music taste you'll ever see (rock, electronic, poppy, classic, folky, you name it).
Teach, Learn, Share
TEACH
I have experience as a mindfulness teacher in basic levels, and also some links with tantra and other spiritual practices.
I also have experience as a music teacher (viola, violin, guitar, percussion, piano, and also love to explain and introduce music to new audiences).
I work as a uni lecturer so I know a lot about psychology, statistics and related.
LEARN
Foreign languages, how to play new instruments, DJing techniques (currently saving for some synths), brewing techniques (starting with mead).
SHARE
My music - listen, make together, whatever.
My cooking - lots of dishes, spanish ones included.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Normally I'm busy even on holidays (research never stops) and also kinda introvert, so I can be a very peaceful guest. However, when in the mood, I can be cheerful and talkative.
Chat and profound conversations, specially in the evenings (I'm kinda vespertine) having tea, beer or wine.
I can cook a great variety of dishes, spanish ones included.
