About Me
Hi :) My name is Marie-Caroline Serré, but since my name is pretty long hard to prononce I go by MC. I was born and raise in the South West of France (between Bayonne and Bordeaux). When I was a teenager I spent a year as a foreigner exchange student in Indiana, and decided to come back 2 years ago to continue my undergraduate education at Lindenwood University in Missouri. I am a world traveler, and since I'm in the U.S. all year long, I love travelling inside and outside the country, discovering new places, cultures and landscapes every time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The first time I heard of couch surfing was a few years ago, and thought it was such a good and smart idea. No better way to really get to know a place and its culture, and people as well! Then, when I was in Chicago two years ago, I went to see some friends who were couch surfing. Their host invited me to dinner and then to stay with them and that's when I had my first couchsurfing experience. Back home, in France, my roommate hosted couch surfer once when I was there. I've also went coushurfing in Puerto Rico last year, in San Juan, living in the apartment with a really nice couple. (Since it was never me involved in the request because at this time for very strange reason I didn't have a couch surfing profile I do not have references :( BUT I hope I will have some soon :) )

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Leaving my country and my family for the first time, alone, when I was 15 years old to be an exchange student in Indiana. I have also passed a diploma back home that allows me to work with children at day care center and be a summer camp advisor. It has allowed me to works with children from 3 to 18 years old and even travel with them to other countries. The last past years, I have worked in different environment, especially with children from foster homes that usually do not get to go on vacation. It was a great experience, and I usually stay in touch with the teens It has become more than a job to me.
