About Me
Hi there!
My name is Asier Rodriguez, student on Erasmus, everybody knows what it means. I have been able to meet so many different cultures, languages and countries that I feel really a man of the world.
I am spanish, concretely basque, with an own culture to feel proud of. I really love meeting new people and I will like to start hosting surfers ASAP!!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The main intention for this is knowing people, understanding how they live and being able to know so much from as manydifferent cultures as possible.
Honestly, there are so many countries from which I do not know neither the name of the national dish or how to say the typical polite things like thank you or goodbye.
Interests
I really like sports, each and everyone of them. I love football, basketball and everything implying sportive entertainment, even better if I can practise it later!! :)
I have studied electronic enginnering, which can maybe sound boring but it is really really interesting because robots are really cool stuff, believe ir or not. First boring and too complicated but then we all know what they can do.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music, movies and books for me are really important in my daily life. I cannot keep on living without music on my side, and books & movies make a really big difference in terms of general knowledge and develop as a person.
My music feelings go for nearly everything, depending on the mood. I can start hearing rap music (Eminem, Los Chikos del Maiz), pop music (Coldplay, Melendi), rock (AC/DC, Metallica, Guns'n'Roses) or even classical music.
In terms of reading, one of my passions, I love to get into crime stories ( Stieg Larsson), historical books (Ken Follet), as I said being able to exercise your mind in order to solve a crime or imagine past events.
Last, but not least, I have to say that I normally follow blockbusters, among them I can quote The Fight Club, Gladiator or 300. Normally action movies in which I always try to find the hidden message.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It is absolutely clear: Erasmus. Making this decision was the best thing I did in my life and I am still enjoying it. I didn't know that much what it was all about but everyday I cannot help thinking how wrong I would have been if I hadn't taken that information and chosen to go Germany leaving friends and family behind in order to make a new one, full of multiple cultures and background, who has helped me develop in many different ways and still does.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to learn each and every single thing from the cultural background of everybody that I am hosting and I will like to give them mine.
This goes about food, traditions and many simple things that will help both of us to establish interesting conversations.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my memories about all the places where I have been, show the pictures an compare experiences. I am able also to teach my language, not only spanish, but also basque.
This makes me feel really proud of my home city in Spain because it implies much more than just a language, it has to do with a whole endangered culture. It would be great to help this treasure survive and develop through many different parts of the worlf.
