Overview
About Me
I am a traveling musician, at the moment mostly nomading my way around our world living in my small suitcase, playing violin in concert for various projects and teaching. Traveling with my violin is my favourite thing in the world - to connect with people with whom I may or may not have a spoken language in common, where music becomes the most important means of communication. Music really can open up one persons soul to another.
I like to build relationships with new countries, their people and cultures, and I always look for new elements to incorporate into my life and musicianship. A big interest of mine is to learn about folk- and traditional music from different cultures.
I am interested in politics, history and religion, although I wouldn't say I am very opinionated or rooted in a specific standpoint. I just feel a strong urge to try and understand at least a little bit of the sometimes confusing and at all times intriguing reality we live in. So listening to peoples stories and understandings of their own society/culture/country is very important to me.
I love food! To enjoy the gifts of life (where food definitely is one big part) is really important to me, in the middle of a world which a lot of the times can seem far too broken.
PHILOSOPHY
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Mostly surfing as I have been nomadic for the past couple of years, but a few hosting experiences as well. Love the exchange, love the shared experiences, the enriched perspectives when people learn from each other. I have discovered about cultures and cities, history and politics, shared my knowledge and experience, gained a some very dear friends, had a lot of fun, and learned, learned, learned.
Interests
Politics, philosophy, religion, history, food, books, nature... I like to be with friends, to meet new people and to make music. I love interesting talks that exchanges knowledge, makes me evaluate my beliefs and widens my perspectives.
