About Me

Hi! I'm a Swiss student that fell in love with travelling. I am currently in South America for 4 months starting in French Guyana to end in Argentina

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first joined couch surfing because I was not using my room at University much so I thought it could benefit other people travelling through my city. But my city is not very touristic, so I wasn't much active and kind of forgot about it.
Now I'm planning a trip to Australia and I thought it would be a good opportunity to have a second start with couchsurfing.

Interests

I love traveling, sport and nature. I especially enjoy arriving in a place where I don't know anybody because that is actually the kind of situation where we meet the most people

  • traveling
  • surfing
  • sports
  • teaching
  • volunteering

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm open to all kind of music but I especially like older stuff to listen for myself. I have quite something for jazz at the moment

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't know if it is amazing but that was by far the best experience I had in a long time. I joined a volunteering project in my university and we basically spent one month in a small village in Nicaragua as English teachers. That was a fantastic experience because Nicaragua is such a wonderful country and the people we met there were incredibly kind and friendly. It was also great because I taught the pupils as much English as they were teaching me Spanish, it was more a friendship than an actual teacher-pupil relationship. I don't remember most of the Spanish I learned though

Teach, Learn, Share

I love languages because they allow us to meet and share with people so different from what we know from home. I have a funny story involving naked old men in a Japanese public bath and why languages are important

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have travelled quite a lot, but I don't consider myself the kind of guy who knows so much about the world. But I can share my enthusiasm for many things and especially nature and its beauties

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Nicaragua, South Africa, Spain, Tunisia, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
