ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Mathías and I am from Montevideo, Uruguay. Travelling is my greatest passion and I think that CouchSurfing makes it even better since it allows you to know the real identity and personality of the places you are visiting. I am a funny person that enjoys doing all kinds of things, from nightlife to nature, from cultural attractions to sports. I desire to meet all the people I can, from as many nationalities as possible, not only for enjoyment but also because doing that is a great part of our training as a person.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My first experiences in CS were in Europe in 2013, where I was travelling by van with a bunch of friends for 70 days. Once we returned to Montevideo, many friends started hosting people too (I couldn´t do that at that moment) and I usually joined them in all kind of activities with the surfers… an amazing way to travel without passing through any border.

As I said before, travelling is probably my greatest passion and CouchSurfing makes it even better. CS allows you to know the real identity and personality of the places you are visiting, allows you to reach places you could not otherwise reach and let you feel the purest local atmosphere. I think that my trips would have been completely different if I had not done CS.

Musica, film e libri

I love a wide range of musical styles and I usually do a kind of "research" trying to find new bands, new styles, new songs, not always contemporary.
Probably my favourite band is Pink Floyd, not only for its lyrics but also for its extremely sensory and hypnotic music. I like The Beatles (Who doesn´t?) and Deep Purple. I like blues music and Jazz, specially Latin Jazz such as the Uruguayan seventies-band named OPA. I also like electronic music, such as HOUSE music, not the comercial one, specially for parties.

As for movies, I prefers those that have something to say, not just for entertainment. I like South American or European movies, for example "Bad day for fishing" (Uruguay), "Even the rain" (Spain) and "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" (England).
