Overview
About Me
Hello! My name is Bart and I come from the Netherlands. After having had an office job as a product designer for a couple of years I decided to pack my backpack and go travelling instead.
I went to South East Asia and India, where I bought a Royal Enfield and started cruising through the rough terrain of this subcontinent, experiencing the most amazing places and meeting extraordinary people hidden away in the remote corners.
Now I am extending my international adventure and became a teacher in Kunming, China. I love to read, listen to music, do some yoga and I started to learn kung fu. Furthermore I am practicing Chinese. Life is cool.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While I was travelling in India I often ended up in remote villages where I had to call out for the village chairman, and when I found this person, he would offer me a bed and food.
Local people always offered me the best stay. Maybe not always the most comfortable, but the locals always told the best stories, allowed me to see their rituals and showed me the most beautiful hidden places. Furthermore, in their house I experience their way of living, joining their meals and drinking their local flavors.
That's why I now join the online equivalent. I love to meet new people and share travel stories.
Interests
Obviously, I love to travel and share travel stories. I love riding my mountainbike through the green-red mountains of Yunnan. I practice Kung Fu, Hatha Yoga and meditate in the morning.
