Overview
About Me
Calm, handy and reasonably entertaining. I speak English, Dutch, French and German and I like giving back to people. I have a broad variety of skills and would love to put them at your disposal. I'm all about positivity and good vibes.
PHILOSOPHY
- I don't sleep, I dream awake.
- Do we avoid risks in life to make it safely to death?
- You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
- There are things known and things unknown and in between are the doors.
- Don't let the time that something will take dissuade you from doing it. The time will pass anyways.
- Fortis fortuna adiuvat.
- U aware?
- Buy the ticket, take the ride.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've finished my studies, so it's time to travel the world. I don't have the money nor desire to stay in hotels each day, and why would I? It's much more fun this way, meeting new people!
Interests
Watches, traveling, movies, music....
- Despite coming from a modest background, I started collecting and fixing vintage watches about 4 years ago. In the spirit of incrementalism, I managed to build a pretty nice collection, mainly consisting of vintage Omega and Jaeger-LeCoultre.
- I've seen most of Europe, but not too much outside of it - although I've been to the US before.
- I love learning new things and meeting new people.
- I have a musical background, played trumpet most of my life, and when traveling I sometimes pretend I can play harmonica as well.
- I love being outside, immersed in the beauty of nature

What I Can Share with Hosts
- silly anecdotes: Male puppies will intentionally let female puppies win when they play-fight, so they can get to know them better.
- help around in the house: my mother is quite cunning , so as a young boy, she taught me to do all household chores so she could lay back and relax.
- build and destroy: my father was quite the handyman and did everything in and around our house and that of friends and family. Ever since I was little he took me with him to assist and learn, to eventually turn the roles around. I got power tools as birthday gifts... nuff said.
- authenticate and valuate your vintage watches (and buy them)
- teach you (a bit of) some of my languages
- my life experiences: despite my young age and forgetting 99% of what I do, I still have quite a lot to tell
- my academic and (limited) professional experience and knowledge: I've done four programmes of higher education in all kinds of different fields (engineering, architecture, law, communication) after studying Latin and Greek in high school. I like new challenges, so I've worked as a gardener, handyman, store cleric, in a bank, for the government, a PR-agency,... I've even worked in a graveyard.
- I'm tempted to continue, but if there's one thing people love, it's mystery, so consider that my closing offer here
