About Me
ABOUT ME
Hey guys. I`m Michal a 23 year old Slovak dude. (If you hate to read bunch of continuous flow of
words, feel free to skip this and go straight to bullet point’s section ▼ of this introduction).
I like to be impromptu with my life and do spontaneous stuff. Like to travel, party, hang out, meet new people and cultures, have breakfast in bed, outdoor lunch, extra half-hour of sleep, playing with puppies, dipping my face to fresh snow, tell elaborate jokes when you have to wait for the punch line for days and all of the other little things in life. I plan my future in months not years, with still no clear vision when I`m going, but still enjoying the ride.
Then sometimes if I fell like it I study and work. When I do work, It´s mostly journalism jobs, most recently I was doing financial reporting for a Slovak daily (got like 30 cover stories in 6 months, Stop bragging, Michal!). But I quit that to go for an exchange study to US. Great decision btw. Before that I was intern in broadcast journalism and also doing news agency and online reporting for a year. So now I am just studying because my american visa, won´t allow me working here. I got my bachelor in Media studies and Journalism from Masaryk University in Brno, there I am continuing my master`s degree in Media studies. But I took advantage of the exchange programs. I spent one semester at Stockholm University in beautiful but also rainy Sweden. I became cooler, healthier (everybody jogs in that country and looks ridiculously beautiful) and I can now order a beer in Swedish. There I also experienced dog sledding in -33 degrees Celsius 200 kilometers over the Arctic Circle.
Even though I like the cold, a I wrote before I exchange my winter this January for Austin, Texas with its 28 degrees and sunlight. I am spending my spring semester at Southwestern University in Georgetown (so technically not Austin, but it is 30 miles, so give me that and I also spend every weekend in atx, so...)
I did not talked about sports and now you think I am a lazy person (It is not helping that I am writing this in my bed). But I enjoy all the outdoor activities, hiking, and rock-climbing or cycling, just not fan of the gym.
Other sport I enthusiastically practice is Dogspotting. Merging the beauty of athleticism and wit, the goal is to take a picture of a dog without him noticing and then you get points from the comments section. (here is the fb group, feel free to join playoffs are coming every fall -
