I love exploring places with locals, that gives you an in-depth experience. Like getting to know a little of the daily life of the place. As a geographer i'm interested in the local configurations beyond the touristic side of the places I visit.

With people who knows the place you get the SO MUCH TO SEE, SO LITTLE TIME experience!

In my opinion, people hosting are always interested in giving you a good and real experience :) that's why I like couchsurfing.
