About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Looking, finding and learning.
ABOUT ME
I love experiencing new things, be it salsa dancing in Shanghai, crocodile steak in Nairobi, designer boutiques in Milan or the muddy backroads of Cambodia, climbing mountains or just getting lost in the streets of a new city. Actually, I think one of the best ways to find wonderful new things is just getting lost, letting go of everything you thought you knew and just letting the world hit you.
I'm sociable and love good talks, but also know the value of silence. I'm rather creative, and I often find myself around people and things that inspire me. When home in Helsinki I divide my time between work, family and quality time with friends. I go out a lot, but I also enjoy quiet evenings with good food. When traveling, parties are not necessarily first on my list, though not last either.
I'm rather spontaneous by nature and don't like to have too many fixed plans. Unfortunately combining work and studies means that my time now needs to be planned well ahead. But I try to break free as often as possible ;)
PHILOSOPHY
ä¸ç¬èè¿ - Chinese idiom
"Quand on n'a pas son compte dans un monde, on le trouve dans un autre. C'est un très grand plaisir de voir et de faire des choses nouvelles." -Voltaire: Candide

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a whole library. You're welcome to use it but be aware, I do love my books so treat them with respect.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There are many thigs that have blown my mind, but I guess what I'll have to mention here is climbing the Mont Blanc in summer 2007. The rest may or may not be found in my memoirs.
Teach, Learn, Share
Languages, possibly. All kinds of useless trivia, such as why Finnish has two words for elephant. Basics of the dtomba script, world's only living hieroglyph script.
Helsinkiwise my specialty would be the electronic music scene; clubs as well as underground parties, I'm pretty well informed on what's going on in the city. I can also give you some tips on interesting small shops, cafes and restaurants you might not find in the guidebooks. Or if you'd rather find interesting art exhibitions, I could certainly point you at one or two. All of the above are things that I'd accompany you to as well, if possible.
What I would like to learn from my hosts are similar things: the best parties, most interesting shops and restaurants, new phenomena, what is THE thing around at the moment.
