About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finishing my studies and get the hell out of here

ABOUT ME

I'm studying Musicology, Sociology & Political Science in Gießen and I'm curently trying to finish my B.A. without going insane.
I used to work for a tiny Indie music label as well as a booking agency, working for and with several bands I love. Music is a big part of my life and I'm usually surrounded by people who feel the same way.

I'm basically a very relaxed, spontaneous and open minded person who enjoys having a beer with friends, going to gigs/festivals all over the country (and abroad), watching the occasional cat video on youtube and being active in independent left-wing politics.
I have no use for established gender roles, racism of any kind, chauvinism and nationalism and I do not tolerate any of these thinking patterns in my home.

I'm a heavy procrastinator and I'm going mental when I don't have a trip ahead of me to look forward to. Call it restlessness. I love tea. Being at the seaside. Any animal as long as it doesn't have more than four legs. Football. British film, telly and theatre.

PHILOSOPHY

"I have no country to fight for, my country is the earth, and I'm a citizen of the world." (Eugene V. Debs)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Good times indeed.

Interests

Music/concerts/festivals, cooking, sophisticated movies, politics, beer, the city of Amsterdam, travelling in general, astronomy & astrophysics, British television/film, urban art, 2nd hand books.

I've always been fascinated by languages and linguistics. I have this habit of learning new languages as a means to avoid doing more urgent things, and I usually absorb information, grammar and vocabulary like a sponge. Lately I've been fascinated mainly with Celtic languages, how they evolved, died out and are being restored and taught again. I'm currently learning the basics of Welsh but I'd love to learn Scottish Gaelic too sometime.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recent highlight:
Standing on the rocks of Carnac Point right by the mouth of the River Ness in South Kessock, Inverness, Scotland, with dolphins leaping out of the Beauly Firth lying ahead of me in dead silence and complete solitude.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well... I could show you how to make stencils so you can make grey walls more colourful. Or I could show you how to create delicious vegetarian or even vegan meals. I guess I could teach you some German.. And if you're into music as much as I am, I could maybe introduce you to some soulful bands you haven't heard of yet.

I love learning new languages, so I'd be happy if you taught me yours! And if you're into street art, too, it would be awesome if you could share some info about interesting spots, writers, artists or pieces in your city.
