We passionate about all things small and beautiful that can make people smile unexpectedly. Kat loves innovative recycling and reuse of everyday objects and learning about local culinary delights. Matti just loves going around in circles with good design and typography and discovering handmade arts and crafts throughout our travels.

PHILOSOPHY

To find out if there is a brick wall at the end of the universe and hope Facebook will not survive... rather enable people learn to reconnect again face to face and hand-written letter by letter

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

If everyone had a couch to offer, would we ever stop travelling? We like to meet like-minded people who don't always feel comfortable staying put, who want to learn from others and give something special from themselves.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have hosted many people from around the world friends, family and friends of friends and friends of friends of friends. we've had a lot of fun hosting strangers and forged some special connections along the way. To experience real hospitality and see if the six degrees of separation actually works as we have hosted people in Melbourne and being surfers now in our travels we have found the unexpected really does happen with people around the globe.

Interests

We love design, composting, great food and wine, chatting about silly things and sometimes profound things. We love to cook and share food, eat with our hands and share food that is that is prepared with love. We're into hiking, travelling for long periods, biking, walking and playing board games and films and music from around the world...not to mention a really good gig, laughter and of course explore the back alleys of the world and oh and a messy drunken night out!

Every genre except R&B. Matt is the music conessiour and Kat loves to dance. Indie, local, rock, bush doofs, electronic and local hip hop to world grooves to gypsy and eclectic beats....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walked the Annapurna trail in Nepal
Been on a bus on the Chola Pass at 5000m in China, northern Sichuan and bus started slid precariously on the ice... but the scenery was so spectacular it didn't really matter.
Danced the millenium dusk set to Alex Patterson from the Orb with my true love
