ABOUT ME

Hello! I'm Lauren. I'm a student of sociology and theatre. I would be graduating in May but I will be doing a semester abroad in Madrid, Spain so my graduation date will be pushed back. It will be worth it, obviously. I want to travel some of europe after my classes and milk this experience for all that it's worth! I want to meet people, share, learn, laugh, explore, and grow. I want to learn Spanish and use that to help me on my quest to change the world a little while I'm here. Whether or not I do that through song or theatre or social research or documentary film or any other way, I'm gonna make it happen however I can.

PHILOSOPHY

Stay OPEN and FOCUSED and HAVE FUN. Learn as much as possible in our short time. Teach as much as possible, too.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm brand new at this, I had one couchsurfing experience with good friends (we made a group profile, didn't use this one) in Montreal and it was AMAZING. I would be interested in hosting but I live in the cheapest possible way and have a teeeny tiny room with no living room or couch at all. In the future, I plan to host. Until then, I love the idea of couchsurfing. A global world is what we live in but is not a concept that we all grasp personally. I want to meet my fellow human beings in their "habitat." The greatest travel experiences I've had (which are few but growing) have involved meeting people who live there, know whats up, and want to share the beauty of their world with me. I can't imagine going somewhere as a tourist and staying in a hotel or resort. I want to avoid that and get out there and meet and explore and live and love.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met a wonderful woman in Montreal when me and some friends stayed with her for New Years. It was GREAT to talk with her, meet her friends, go out with her, cook, chill, share, and experience. She was gracious, open, giving, trusting, and made our time there extremely fun and relaxing. I'm hooked now and want to use this site on a trip around Europe. I would eventually love to write or make a film about the people I meet on my couchsurfing travels.
