Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Stay busy living life.
ABOUT ME
Giving money to people so that I can read books is rubbish so I rebelliously meander through the tracks and paths of life, grabbing, learning, and appreciating everything that gets in my way.
PHILOSOPHY
Make good decisions in life regardless if people will look at you funnily afterwards.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I sleep on peoples' couches occasionally, besides that I spread the word and share my couch with others if I ever manage to settle some place for more than a month.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've left a few sturdy butt imprints across the globe on various couches through this wonderful network. My favorite is when you are in the middle of nowhere and unexpectedly meet a couchsurfer who invites you to stay with him. Who needs the internet, right? This has happened twice to me.
Interests
Things that are interesting? But what isn't interesting... I'm interested, you're interested, we are all interested.
Living a sustainable and minimalistic life is interesting!... along with other things.
Everything is interesting!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: What doesn't work with the right mood? Predominantly I am a Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Leonard Cohen guy and you can throw in a whole bunch of world music. But the good old Boogie Down Productions, KRS-One, Iron Maiden, Daft Punk, Miles Davis, Nick Cave... it`s all groovy.
Movies: I know that there is alot of good stuff out there. I have not been that keen on movies but I'm starting to turn a new leaf: City of God, Adrift in Tokyo, Pom Poko, The Tale of Princess Kaguya, Departures, La Grande Bellezza, Broken Flowers, This Must be the Place, The Budapest Grand Hotel.
Music: Depends on my mood; Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, Miles Davis, Vivaldi, Iron Maiden, The Roots, Bunny Wailer, Nick Cave, Nick Drake...
Books:Fiction, fantasy and non-fiction! Lord Jim, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, The Hero with a Thousand Faces, Various Positions: A Life of Leonard Cohen, Life on Earth by David Attenborough, Wheel of Time series, Disk World series.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived in a Hindu ashram for 4 months, built mudbrick houses in Thailand, lived in the sub-tropical rainforest of Australia and the tropical forests of the Guianese Plateau volunteering for biodiversity surveys, cycled from France through the Pyrenees to Alicante and back up, stayed in a tibetan yak herder's hut at 3500m altitude for 1 month, lived in Bulgaria for 1 year and then cycled from Bulgaria to France through the Balkans... and back... heck! If you want to share a story or two lets do it!
Teach, Learn, Share
Surf with an open-heart, as a couchsurfing guest I like to accommodate my host as much as possible, a little role reversal. Remember the great act of kindness that is being shown towards oneself!
