About Me

I see myself as a friendly guy with lots of life spirit. I'm adventurous, enthusiastic and want to know more about the world. I’m open minded and always looking for new experiences and wisdom. I’m not religious but want to discover my spiritual self. One of my favorite quotes: "Do not seek to have events happen as you want them to, but instead want them to happen as they do happen, and your life will go well?" Epictetus

I'm leaving the 16th of April for the journey of my life: hitchhiking from Holland to Istanbul and then flying to Nepal to continue my journey in Asia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet people and listen to their stories. Learn about their culture, view on life and travel experiences. And of course have fun!

Interests

I'm interested in so many things that it’s hard to mention them all. But I’ll try my best: Travelling, adventure, spirituality, reading, sports (a.o. football, waterpolo, cycling and climbing), positive psychology (happiness science), serious gaming, gamification, human development, tv-series, partying and most of all: having fun with people!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: J.J. Cale, Sixto Rodriguez, Bob Marley. But also electronic music
Movies: I don't really watch movies these days. More series like Game of Thrones, Vikings and House of Cards
Books: The Happiness Hypothesis, The power of NOW, Switch, The Hapiness Advantage, Abundance and Marching powder

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking up Vulcano El Misti (Arequipa, Peru). Reached the top at 5.820 meters. The hardest but most amazing experience of my life!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my stories and experience about travelling. My first adventure in Hitchhiking (starting April 16th 2015 from Holland to Istanbul) and of course other cool stories.
I can teach English, Dutch, Serious Gaming, Gamification, Positive Psychology, football, waterpolo and other things I’m interested in.
I want to learn almost everything
