About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to try every cheese in the world.

ABOUT ME

I am everything and nothing.

This is a story I wrote a few years ago and found in my old desk.

Suburban Oddities

"Hey John, is something going on with your lawn?"
"No, just cutting the grass, why?"
"Um...because you're wearing a gas mask..."
"Oh! Right. No, I just got this, it's pretty cool. Comes with headphones built in!"
"Because everyone wants to listen to music during a raid or while fumigating..."
"Exactly."
"You should really just get some regular headphones, they'd be a lot cheaper."
"No way! Now that I have this thing I can go into my basement again!"
"Why couldn't you before?"
"Oh, they found a biohazardous waste dump nearby and it's been leaking into my house. Now I can get all the photo albums out of the basement before they demolish it."
"So why are you mowing the lawn?"
"I just wanted to test the headphones out on this baby!"
"Right. Well, see on the golf course tomorrow?"
"Yeah, see you then!"

PHILOSOPHY

Nothing lasts, but Nothing is lost.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It seems like everywhere I go I run into couch surfers, without even trying. One guy started messaging me while we were both in Seattle only to find out we were actually both sitting in the same library! I have a couch now...though it might be moving, with me, to another town soon. And I'm a little over active in the group forums...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first surf included a dance party, a bike posse, and a quick fire Q&A session. The first time I hosted I made two new friends who were hitchhiking to San Francisco, they were a blast! Since then I've hosted the Savage Cats, a motorcycle crew from New York, and various traveling grad students, and I've been surfing all over since July '09. I've been hopping from coast to coast and everywhere in between, and I'm about ready to leave the country again. I'm excited by the prospect of surfing abroad.

Interests

I'm putting most of my energy into my music these days, collaborating with anyone I can find. And otherwise I'm winterizing my sailboat. But...

I like to go places and see things and meet people. Along the way I enjoy dancing, vespa riding, ukelele-and-kazoo-ing (sometimes with an egg shaker involved), sailing, reading, bike riding, music listening, philosophizing, astronomizing, and the general splendor of the world around us.

Music, Movies, and Books

I Read.

I Watch.

I Listen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I watched carrot seeds shoot out little sprouts, take root, and grow toward the sun with the cutest little finger-like baby leaves. Then a few months later I picked them out of the ground I had put them in, scrubbed that earth off them, and passed them out to my friends. They were delicious. Those carrots have changed my life. For Halloween last year I dressed up as carrot. Then I traded a rideshare for a stick'n'poke tattoo of a carrot on my side. Definitely the most painful carrot I've ever encountered, but it looks pretty sweet.

Teach, Learn, Share

The entire Universe relies upon Balance. Everything everyone does will have an equal and opposite reaction to restore that Balance.

Earth is going through a major change, she has been for some time, and it's getting close to the peak. We, as human kind, must do everything in our power to make the change go smoothly for ourselves. This is a time of upheaval, growth, instability, and revolution. We've all got to come together, not to be dependent on one another, but to be Interdependent. If we don't work together, we all will fall.

Also if you hang out with me I will teach you to get lots of free shit, finger knit, play ukelele...at least the few songs and chords I know, and I'll encourage you to get down with your bad self and be fabulous. Red lipstick is a thing for me. ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll play you some tunes, tell talk tales and do your dishes.
