About Me

CURRENT MISSION

get some grant money to expand public art project!

ABOUT ME

I'm from Alice Springs and live in Canberra. I've also lived on an aboriginal community in the western desert called Yuendumu working in the art center, Warlukurlangu. I do curatorial studies and art history at the Australian National Uni. I coordinate and curate a portable public art gallery call CUBE3 (have a look! http://synaesthesia-arts.blogspot.com/ it's out of date but you get an idea).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surfed in the U S A and can't describe how good it was. ASK ME TO STAY.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I recently did a trip in the USA and met the most amazing people couch surfing in San Francisco, Portland and Seattle, I surfed for most of my trip and wouldn't have it any other way. Now I want to switch it around and have surfers come to me! I live with two amazing people and many more it feels like, you're welcome here as much as we can. If we can't we can try put you onto people.

this was my (un-official) first time:
When I was 15 i did a school exchange to South India. I was up in the mountains in Tamil Nadu and another girl and I were going to Mysore for a week while the local students had exams. We were going to be staying with some tenuously distant relation of hers. When we arrived in the city we expected to meet him at the station but he didn't show. We took a rickshaw to his house and he wasn't there. We could see through the windows that there was no furniture in the house. We asked a neighbor who told us he was in Bombay and would be back in two days - we got handed a key and camped out in this mansion that echoed in an old colonial district for the next while. We were completely free, mid-teens in india and had the most amazing time. He came back and scared us senseless by knocking on the window at 3 am a few days later because he'd lost his keys. He felt bad for scaring us, for not being there and took us to a master sitar player at an old temple to make it up. best intro to CS ever.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can talk to you about the australian art scene, both contemporary western and indigenous artists. I can also teach you to make a mean frittata.
I want to learn everything you want to teach, but, and i realize that i may being sounding a like a one track mind here, but i want to learn about the art in your city, the tiny indi galleries showing emerging artists, offsite projects, performance art etc.
