About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Grow vegetables, make art and be happy.

ABOUT ME

I am a creative, funny and friendly Scottish 32 year old seeking adventure and laughs.
I LOVE movies and used to work in an arthouse cinema for 10 years. I LOVE dressing up and fancy dress parties.
I enjoy drawing and painting and make my own jewellery from recycled materials including latex and computer parts and have a huge passion for turning 'waste' into new practical or pretty inventions! Check out my etsy shop at www.etsy.com/nz/shop/borganic if you want to see what I make :)
I have just moved into a house in Taupo with my boyfriend, Tavis where we are looking forward to hosting some crazy chaps and chaperettes.
As we are struggling to find enough work to pay the bills at the moment, we would really appreciate guests to repay the favour by cooking dinner for us one night. I love cooking and enjoy sharing and cooking food for surfers, so even if you are not a cook yourself, chipping in some supplies would be a great help also.

PHILOSOPHY

Experience everything. Good or bad. Life is too short. Enjoy friends, old or new and invite new people into your life with open arms.
See as much of the world as possible and get back to nature when ever you can.
And eat good food!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting and surfing. Surfed in England, New Zealand and USA, it's they only way I want to travel now :)
Hosted in Scotland and now New Zealand.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with different couchsurfers in New Zealand around Northland and Tauranga and surfed with another 9 across the United States. I have had nothing but amazing experiences with very friendly, interesting and excentric people. I 'heart' couchsurfing!
visited 20 states (8.88%)Create your own visited map of The World or Like this? try: Google Battle

Interests

Travelling, film, photography, jewellery, body modification, graffiti, general artiness, robots, armour, anything a bit dark or sinister, gardening, cooking, swimming, rollercoasters, booze and....FOOD!!!
Becoming self sufficient is quickly turning into my main ambition and have great aspirations of building my own Earthship-type eco structure in the future, complete with several hosting rooms!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies- Donnie Darko, Little Miss Sunshine, Das Experiment, Leon, You Me and Everyone We Know, The Lost Boys, District 9... too many to list!! I worked in an arthouse cinema for over a decade so chances are if you want to chat movies, then I'm your gal!
I like most music...although can't handle too much reggae, punk or jazz in one sitting!
Books- anything that catches my interest, I generally judge them by their covers! ha ha.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't just have one.
Milford Sound, the Tongariro crossing, living in a genuine prison (backpackers) for 2 months, Bungy swing, and falling in love with the mighty Waikato River in NZ!
Being chased through a bunker by a Giger alien in "Alien Wars" in Glagsow when I was 9!
Hitch-hiking across America in 2010.
Watching a shuttle launch in Florida, attending Rock Wercheter festival in Belguim, partying it up in Berlin several times, visiting Auschwitz in Poland...and of course falling in love with a man with a genuINE mullet :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Painting, drawing, making stuff from garbage, general art skills. FOOD!- Sharing some/Cooking/preserving/growing tips and experiences. Dirty Korean words :P

My boyfriend and I are becoming quite keen gardeners t the moment, although still just experimenting at least we are doing it on a bigger scale now in our new garden.
We would love to host some people who have and interest in permaculture or eco building to share tips and ideas with.
