About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See it at http://www.travelpod.com/travel-blog/p4ul_allen/1/tpod.html

ABOUT ME

Hmmm... these things are always a bit tricky. Well by day I sit in the office tapping away on a keyboard. I used to enjoy my job but recently found my enthusiasm lacking. In my spare time I enjoy all the usual activities, socializing, film watching, gymming, sports (snowboarding, football \ soccer, rock climbing, mountain biking) but definitely not train spotting. I'm not particularly philosophical, I enjoy stimulating conversation but I can be shy with people I don't know so can come across as arrogant (I've been told)!

PHILOSOPHY

Well I thought life was all about having the 9-5, car, house etc but recently thinking there's more. Hopefully over the next year I'll find out. Sorry no inspiring quotes to put here, maybe after Tibet?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to enjoy a couple of welcoming couches during my planned trip. It's not about the free board but mixing with different people and also local people who know the non-tourist places. Once I'm settled, whether it be back in my home town or somewhere else, I hope to offer my couch or settee to someone!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've slept on many a couch (albeit not through this site), floor, patio etc. There's funny stories of thorn bushes, car seat's and a whole host of other things I don't care to remember.

Interests

Damn it should've looked down the page before filling in the boxes above! My main interest is not being at work and doing something new, challenging and fun but not necessarily in that order!!

Music, Movies, and Books

Wow. Well let's start with the easy one, I don't read a great deal. Something maybe I'll pick up later on in life. Movies, there are so many good ones why just pick a few to list. Music, eclectic would be my description, from rock to reggae, Acoustic to Drum & Bass there's always a situation or mood that suits one type to the next. Having said that I've not found the need for thrash metal yet.

Teach, Learn, Share

My skill would be DIY and IT. I've been told it's a strange combination (you can usually only do one or the other) but it's true.

I'd like to learn a thing or two about who I am. Not something you can directly teach but I guess the experiences I'll potentially have with CS'ers will guide me in the right direction.
