ABOUT ME
Traveller. Creative. Drinking beer. Like to smile. Talking straight. Curious about planet earth and human beings. Geographer. Like to build stuff.
PHILOSOPHY
Don't really have such a thing. But I use to say: "It doesn't count what you say, it counts what you DO."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
That was back in 2009. I heard about this "couchsurfing thing" when I was travelling South America on a motorbike. I've done it as a solo trip and was keen to get ion touch with locals. CS turned out to be the perfect network for that!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I hosted many people in Berlin during my student time and also surfed couches in Europe, South East Asia, South America and the Caribbean. Mostly very good experiences!
Interests
I try to avoid a daily routine as good as I can. I'm a freedom loving human being and curious about most things in life.
In my freetime I love travelling on hidden paths in foreign countries, by motorbike, road tripping with my van or hitchhiking.
Also I like streetart, photography, abandoned buildings, nature, meeting people and having good conversations. And there always should be time for having a cold beer together...sorry, I'm very german in this point :D

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Mr Nice, Faust, Nachtzug nach Lissabon, Marching Powder, 1984, a clockwork orange ...and good comics, too!
Music: I mostly enjoy "hand made" music like rock n roll, punk, ska, alternative. But the older I get, the more intrested I am in all kinds of music: balkan beats, some good old hip hop stuff and great artists from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Yes and sometimes even the trashy Eurodance music from the 90s but let's keep it a secret, ok? :D
I don't like watching TV, there are better ways to waste my time :) And movies? Just to mention a few that are coming to my mind right now: Das Boot, Once upon a Time in the West, Lola rennt, Waltz with Bashir, Into the Wild, Victoria...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Solo motorbike trip through South America. I was 21 years old back then, had no experience in riding motorbikes, not even a drivers license. But I followed my dream and just did it! It's been a very important life experience for the young man who I was. You can do almost everything if you really want it!
Traveling from Berlin to the Amazon forest in Ecuador only by hitchhiking. I managed to get on board of a sailing yacht and crossed the Atlantic Ocean, 4 weeks on the big water. Really liked that simple life style I had these days!
Parachuting in the german Airborne
I undertook a field study in the Amazon about Waorani indegenous and oil exploitation. It was faszinating to experience these people who have been living isolated from the "civilised world" til the 1950s! They even took me for pig hunting with a blowgun :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I am quite talented in working with wood and recycled materials, built most of my furniture by myself. If you have sth to build, I am always happy to help!
I like to share my experience about hitchiking (cars, boats, even planes). If you are interested, I could teach you how to cross the Atlanic Ocean on a sailing boat for free.
I always like to learn more about other cultures and improve my language skills.
Also I'd like to learn more about building roof gardens, green walls and green/sustainable architecture
