ABOUT ME

I come from a longline of travellers. Being a full-blooded Aussie, my family dates back to the convicts. Granted, they didn't have much say in their travel itinerary, but I'm claiming it anyway. A little closer to home, my 79 year-old Grandma is still travelling around the country in her 'Whizz-Banger' campervan, and my parents have just sold their house and bought a motorhome to follow suit.
So really, it's no surprise that I love travel. To be perfectly honest, it wears me out. But if I'm not living out of a suitcase, I'm dreaming about it and easily get restless.

At the moment I'm a little lost in my life. It's not quite clear what my purpose here is, and I hope the different places I travel and the people I meet will give me some answers.

I'm not a deep person, as the last paragraph may lead you to believe. At times I can be quite ditsy. I try not to have too many opinions on things that matter, because that seems to be where the trouble begins, and if I do have opinions I keep them to myself. As a result, I'm terrible at making decisions, and have become a bit of a procrastinator. But a little bit of a kick and I'm on my way!

For 9 months I worked as a bush regenerator. I love working outside, even in the rain, even to the point of considering going back to Uni to do more study of the environment. It really is a rewarding job and I can't wait to get back into it at some point.
I believe in sustainable living, and one of my dreams is to run a property that will look after me in return.

PHILOSOPHY

I was taught by my Dad that 'Everything happens for a reason'. I have come to believe this too. Some people try to discredit the theory with examples but then will turn around with '... but maybe if that didn't happen...'
Sometimes you can't see what the reason is, or don't want to see, but fate, God, Buddha, whoever/whatever you believe in meant for this to happen so look for the good in it!

So far I've only been a surfer, but I look forward to having a place where I can welcome the world through my door!

Interests

At the moment, my favourite things are baking, reading and photography.

My cookies are becoming famous Australia-wide... nay, WORLD-wide! I'll be more than happy to whip some up for any surfers or hosts who cross my path. (And there has been a little controversy of late as to what defines a 'cookie'. I use the term loosely to include all sweet biscuit-like treats. Whatever they're called, they taste good!)

I really only read novels. I can easily get lost in a good story and come out a day later. I'm open to any recommendations.

I have grand plans for my photography, though I'm just an amateur and am still working out how to use my camera.

I'm also getting into knitting and crochet. Some would say I'm addicted, but it's really just the fascination with the fact I can create something so real/solid/practical with one thread!
