About Me
PHILOSOPHY
Don't really follow one belief or another, am open to all. In general believe what comes around goes around. If you do bad things bad things will happen to you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
For the same reason as most, enjoying shared experiences, with fellow travellers and locals. I heard great things from friends that used couchsurfing and saw more than what's in the guide book, that excites me.
My first experience was a huge party in Quito that gave me a chance to meet an amazing host in Guayaquil. I also attended the monthly picnic event in Cali. There I was treated to the Spanish version of Happy Birthday from the whole group Mucho Gracias!! Participated in a language exchange and met new friends.
For me I understand some people are not able to host but share their time and knowledge.
A few years back I hosted exchanges students and enjoyed the experience. I hope to continue opening my door to others when I finally finish my travels.
Interests
Getting out there and seeing things. I've done a lot of walking due to being on a budget. Taking a map and seeing the city can be more enjoyable then first thought. Enjoy being exposed to different music, theater, foods, and culture. I would like to learn more languages, traveling provides great opportunities
Music, Movies, and Books
I like all music. I've had my music phases country , hip hop, classical, jazz, rap and many more. I know this is generic but there is a lot of music I have not heard and am open to being exposed to something different. That and I am musically challenged. I can sing the words to a song but not know the band or title. Books? Well I actually read a lot of country and western Louis L'Amour. I also like Marian Keyes. I try and have a book when I'm on the road. As for movies I am in need of catching up. Despite working at a movies theatre for 10 years there are sooo many movies I need to see. Recent movies I need to watch The Theory of Everything. Brilliant! Older movie, Chocolate. Not a big horror movie fan but have been slowly pushed but my roomies to sit through a few. Not my fault if I make everyone jump when I scream at a scary moment.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hard to choose just one. Started a 1 year trip that took 5years to end. In that time I lived in Australia, New Zealand, Galapagos and traveled Thailand, Cambodia and Laos. Met so many amazing people and had wonderful unique experiences.
Hitch hiked/buses and ride shared across Canada, Coast to Coast! Couchsurfing mostly along the way too.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am happy to trade my English for your Spanish. We can swap travel stories. I am open to learning what makes where I am visiting special. I would like to learn traditional cooking and share recipes. I love'd to take a trip to the local market and discover new fruits and vegetables.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Why am I using CS? After traveling for 6 years. I have paid for my accommodation and volunteered for my accommodation. I believe that the best way to learn about an area and really get a local feel is to stay with those that live there. You are passionate about where you live and I look forward to sharing what make you love where your at.
I am a respectful, clean and tidy person. I enjoy cooking and if open to, I would like to cook a meal, or have dinner out in appreciation for hosting.
I am also open to buying coffee for anyone who is unable to host, however is available to meet up. Could trade a English for Spanish.
