About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am exploring the world, pursuing personal and spiritual growth and spreading humour.

ABOUT ME

Funny, adventurous, passionate, explorer, seeker. I was the director of an Acupuncture College in Denver Colorado until 2005 when I got rid of everything and started a six year journey of adventure and personal development. Now I am on year 16 and have decided to keep going. I am trying to live as if I only have two years left. I find this helps me prioritize the most important things and live for today. It is still hard for me as i worry a lot about the future, but I am getting better with practise:) I write poetry and am trying to finish a book, but I need to develop more discipline with the writing, and stay focused on the topic at hand. there are so many things i want to write about. I want to improve the world if I can in any small way and try to make my interactions meaningful and humorous.

PHILOSOPHY

Live for today, grow, be happy and try to reduce the suffering of others. Make each day and interaction meaningful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Been traveling since 2005, so don't have a couch to share. Just got back from three years in India. Aaah the quiet! It feels like 99 of every hundred people are on vacation:) have lots of stories and i am very considerate - supposedly, not your normal American. (but maybe they were just being nice:)) I hope to meet interesting people in the countries i visit. Make friends and learn more about the cultures where i am travelling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had a great time, 6 months through South america and in Israel. But i have done this informally all my life, as I meet locals in my travels or at home. I loved the time i came home from a normal day at the office with two young Danish back packers with full packs crammed into my little two seater fiat convertible. Luckily it was a sunny day so the top was down, otherwise we couldn't have fit. My ex-wife was surprised as suddenly we were eating for four, and without cell phones back then i couldn't warn her. but probably wouldn't have anyway, because how cool is that to just have two backpackers show up in your life on a normal Tuesday driving home from work!

Interests

meditation - spent over 4 years in India; yoga (spent a year living at a yoga school, but the old man is still not that flexible!) martial arts, personal/spiritual growth, natural healing. Travel

Music, Movies, and Books

Just read a great book called the white tiger, but can't remember the author's name! Love meaningful classics and addicted to movies. Lately, Steinbeck, London, and Tolstoy are my favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trekked in Nepal. Visited 75 countries, 6 continents. Lived in 6 countries. Healed some serious ailments. Volunteered in two Leprosy villages in China, and Mother Teresa's Center for the destitute and dying in Calcutta. Hung out with a Shaman in Ecuador. Seen things i didn't believe were possible.

Teach, Learn, Share

Natural healing, yoga, meditation, empowerment, business - I can teach. These and many others I would like to learn.
