About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Saving the planet. No, really! Check out my website.

ABOUT ME

I'm the president of an international think tank, the purpose of which is to provide clean, inexpensive, and unlimited energy for everyone on the planet. See my book, Prescription for the Planet, at Amazon.com. Or check out thesciencecouncil.com website, where you can download the book for free. You'll get the idea.

PHILOSOPHY

Take life in big bites. The educator Horace Mann said it best: "Be ashamed to die until you have won some victory for humanity."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I plan to host guests as often as possible. I've done so in the past with global freeloaders, this is just expanding that horizon. I recommend CS to scads of people all the time, and both stay with CS hosts and visit with other CS people when I travel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Oh man, where to start? I'll have to save this for another day. Suffice it to say that one of the greatest things about the internet is that it allows people to share in ways we never could before, and this sort of sharing is some of the very best.

Interests

World travel, environmental activism, bike riding, reading on politics and society, hiking, snorkeling and scuba diving, museums.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Where to start? With my wife and two small kids I lived through the first landfall of Hurricane Hugo in Guadeloupe in '89, which set a world wind speed record (235 mph). I've also been fishing on a 32-foot boat in the Bering Sea in 90 mph winds, which seems tame compared to Hugo but hey, on a 32' boat it seems pretty breezy!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm happy to share information on almost any topic having to do with energy and the environment. I also love to discuss politics, travel, science, culture, etc.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belize, India, Japan, Morocco, Russian Federation, South Korea, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In
