About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Take "once in a lifetime" journeys at least 3 times a year.

ABOUT ME

Used to live in Boise, ID, U.S.A. which I loved after I escaped from the frozen tundra of Minnesota. But then, I needed to shake life up a bit and move out of the states. Poland seemed like a great place to reinvigorate my career. I love living and working here.

PHILOSOPHY

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm . . . don't sit on your ass, get off your own couch and see someone else's couch!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm a big couchsurfer who tries to do this on some of my travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Recently . . . I couchsurfed Hungary, Bulgaria, and Greece thanks to this site!!!
I couch surfed Beijing for the Olympics. And during college, any time I played an away match in rugby, I was surfing, but mainly face down on the floor. Floorswimming, I guess?

Interests

Traveling, traveling, and more traveling. I also enjoy endurance sports (tris, long distance running, cycling), snowboarding, backpacking, hot springs, dive bars, 80's metal, 70's clothing, hashing (drinking + running), playing rugby and doing anything else that makes for a good story to tell.

Music, Movies, and Books

books: Non-fiction adventure, and true crime
music: I love it all, with the exception of country!
movies: indie flicks

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was able to take a trip to a small village in Slovenia last summer to see the house my grandmother was born in. And more recently, I got to meet and try my Polish out on Lech Wałęsa!

Teach, Learn, Share

Ummmm . . . what I've learned at Couchsurfing University is a bottle of booze from your home country goes a long way toward breaking the ice between surfer and host. Make sure you stop off at the Duty Free Shop when you are on your way to surf a couch.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Mexico, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Poland, United States
