Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Drink mate in as many parks I can.
ABOUT ME
I am passionate, sincere, respectful, imaginative, curious, funny, intense, open-minded, easygoing and hungry for life. I have great sideburns, too. For more informations, you'll have to meet me in person and find out by yourself.
PHILOSOPHY
"Deserve what you want"
"So close your eyes and embrace your memories, your memories;
Leave your troubles and your worries far behind, so far behind;
Stop contemplating and start celebrating;
Yeah you gotta live before you die" ("Live Before You Die", Social Distortion)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I registered a while ago and I am now a verified member. I was hosted by a few amazing Couchsurfers during my vacations over the years and I met more great people through Couchsurfing during my RTW trip in 2011-2012 and my 1-year trip in Latin America in 2014-2015. I usually can't host, but I love to meet people for a coffee, a beer or a session of "looking at ugly/weird vinyl covers" at local music stores.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have used Couchsurfing many times and every time it was awesome. The variety of people I met is really interesting. Some examples: I learned so many things about yogurt from a Bulgarian PhD student; I had the chance to try kava at my Fijian Couchsurfer's home; I stayed with a very sweet family in Tallinn; I talked about the Quebec band Malajube with a Chinese woman who lives in Bangkok; I learned how to prepare mate with friends in Córdoba and Mendoza; and so, so much more.
Interests
Travels, writing, music, movies, books, bicycle, learning all kinds of fun but not necessarily useful stuff for trivia games, photography, parties, writing, meeting people, making Simpsons references at random moments, cooking, discussing why Ingmar Bergman rules, discovering cultures, drinking slightly too much coffee, writing, talking about passions and interests, collecting obscure 80's metal vinyls. Oh, and writing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- On December 3rd, 2014, I started a trip that led me from Montreal to Panama City without taking a plane. Then, I went to Colombia by plane (that Darién Gap is not a cool place to hang out), and then, to Argentina. I also went to Uruguay and Chile for a while. I came back to Montreal on December 18th, 2015. Since then, I enjoy the city, I enjoy life.
- I did a Round-The-World trip from November 2011 to August 2012 and it was the best decision of my life.
- I visited the barrio of Olivetti in Caracas and it was a life-changing experience. I was treated like a king by people who don't have a lot of material things to share. It was very humbling.
- I visited the lands of Venezuelan coffee producers and it was eye-opening. I realized the choices I make about the products I buy do have impacts on communities.
- I did a Master degree on professional wrestling. Really.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a Master degree in French studies, so I can teach you French. I can also talk about metal music and professional wrestling for hours to anyone who wants to learn more about these underappreciated subjects. Finally, I learned to « cebar mate » in Argentina and I can show you how to do it.
I can cook you a « poutine », a famous dish from the province I grew up in. It's made with French fries, cheese curds and gravy. It tastes much better than it looks.
