About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to see and learn as much as possible... without going bankrupt
ABOUT ME
In Buenos Aires living with an Argentinean friend for a few months. Loving everything about it so far.
After I graduated from college in Chicago (Spring 2010) I worked 3 boring jobs to save up for a trip to South Korea, China and a separate larger trip to Australia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Nepal, England and Italy. Couchsurfing made all my trips affordable and memorable! My travel bug was ignited after I spent all of my third year of university traveling in Europe (based in Rome).
I am really interested in alternative forms of adulthood, not working in an office, face-to-face human interaction, and healthy living. I find radical politics to be pretty fascinating. I like talking nonsense philosophy... but tend to roll my eyes when it gets pretentious. Gender construction is pretty interesting too.
If all that sounds boring to you, trust me, I can talk pop culture, fashion, music and travel just as well as I can talk politics. I don't take myself too seriously and I'd love to hear your views on life.
A perfect night to me would be one of the following:
1. a good meal with good people
2. wine and discussion
3. drinks and dancing til dawn
PHILOSOPHY
Never let your fears get in your way
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I happily hosted CS when I lived in Chicago and didn't get many requests when I moved back to Connecticut (it's ok, I can understand why ;]). Because I am currently a guest myself, I will be unable to host in Argentina.
I have relied on CS many times while traveling. Hosts have helped me during last minute trips and throughout month long travels. In many cases the people I've met have been the most memorable part of my trip.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was most recently hosted in Australia and Nepal. I have also done home stays in England, Ireland, Germany, Amsterdam and Norway. They were some of the best experiences of my life.
When I lived in Chicago, my roommates and I hosted a couple of different people (before I had my own CS account). I loved hosting because I always got to rediscover parts of my own city and show it off to great people!

Music, Movies, and Books
Books:
I always read memoirs about women... even when I try to venture out and read other stuff, I always come back to them.
Some of my favorites (memoirs and beyond) are: 'Harold and Maude, 'Stone Butch Blues,' 'Lit,' 'Giovanni's Room,' 'The Midwife'... many many more. I read all the time.
I love music and because I'm venturing to Argentina next, I've been listening to a lot of Spanish music. I love indie-pop music, and, admittedly, hip-hop, R&B, rap. Love it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Moving to Italy while studying abroad was the best thing I ever did for myself. I have since traveled to so many beautiful places.
The most amazing thing I've ever done was probably trekking in the Everest Region of the Himalayas while on a trip to Nepal. The flight alone was adventurous and the views were worth the muscle strain.
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, Austria, Cambodia, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Laos, Nepal, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Tunisia, United Kingdom, Uruguay
