Spending every spare time i have on traveling. When i don't travel, i try to do all the fun stuff. I like my work, but I work to live i don't live to work

ABOUT ME

My girlfriend and i live together for three years. We both work professional with teenagers. Also in our free time we hang around a lot with youth. We are both instructors and we give different courses to teenagers. We like ice-skating, reading, traveling, going to see local bands and dj’s. In summer we like to go to a lot of festivals if we are not on a travel.

PHILOSOPHY

Everybody has to be able to start with the same chances. Everybody must be able to do with his life what he wants. Respect the choices of people if they don’t hurt other people or the nature. I try to live in a simple way with respect for nature and every human being. As a social worker I try to help the people who have less chances in society. I like to read and by getting older (already 26 years old) I want to learn more and more. While going to school I did not study very well, but now I work I want to absorb all kind of information.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This is the first time we like to travel with Couchsurfing. I saw the way of traveling like that on a documentary on television. After seeing the documentary I spoke about it with some friends of mine and I heard that it is grown this big. A friend who lives in Gent told me about his experiences with going to places en receiving people in his house. All his experiences were positive and I thought it is an excellent and very interesting way of traveling. I inscribed myself on the website and I’m offering a couch for two persons. Because I live in a little city (Menen) I don’t expect much people to come to my house. Who wants to come, my city is the perfect base to go to beautiful city’s as Amsterdam, Brussels, Bruges, Lille, Paris,…

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being to the Big concerts against discrimination. It was a relief that so much people came to them anifestation against "Het Vlaams Belang" (a political movement that is against everything but white and Flemish)

Organising a big party in our town. It is a relief if you don't know if anyone will show up 5 minutes before the party starts and an hour after the pary started, 2000 people show up.

Teach, Learn, Share

Now we travelled around in almost all the country's in Europe, we want to try to understand other cultures and meet some nice people. My girlfriend has two masters, one in Moral philosofy and one in Criminology, so shes allways in for an discussion and I, well I also went to school...
