ABOUT ME

As a Belgian photographer I travel for projects around the world. For the moment I examine the making of a place to live. Therefore I travel to mayor (and not so mayor) big cities around the world.

In my late 20s I started traveling, just for the traveling, now traveling I became part of photographic art projects..

If I am in Belgium I mostly make portraits of people for magazines. I have been exhibiting my work worldwide (China, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Greece, Ireland, Spain).

PHILOSOPHY

Be open to people and people will be open to you. Smile and you get a smile back. It's very easy and it costs nothing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I give my particulary view on Brussels, as I live in a quite interesting neighbourhood of Brussels. CSers discover an authentic Brussels/Belgium. As I even constantly travel in Belgium as well, couchsurfers can take advantage of that as well by joining me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had some excellent couchsurfing experiences in Baku, Azerbeidjan and Shenzhen, Xiamen, Zhengzhou, Louhe, China and Brazil.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There is not one, it is a chain of experiences. Some samples:

Galax, Virginia. A man in military outfit guarded my tent, while I was wild camping, all night with his shotgun in order to protect me against the "mountainlions". He saw UFO's, he told me in the morning.

Kuna Yala, Panama. In order to get to Colombia I spend one week on the deck of Colombian coconut merchants on there way to Turbo, Colombia.

Border South Ossetia - Georgia. I was taken hostage for a couple of hours by a South Ossetian militia. We (I was together with a French photographer) were saved by the French Gendarmerie and the Polish observers. Vive la France and na żywo Polska!!!

6th of october city, Egypt. I spend ten days with Egyptian construction workers in the desert.

The region of Kükes, Albania. I did a story on minevictims on the border with Kosovo and Albania

Mexico. I hitchhiked my way from north to south.
