About Me

Through CouchSurfing I have met some of the coolest, most forward thinking, fun and interesting people. I love exchanging music, war stories, learning new things about travel and living abroad. For me, I love to scuba dive, hike, play tennis, racquetball, basketball, jog, write about boxing, and learn/speak/sing/practice Spanish.

I also like to show people from other cultures the best of America, and not just what Hollywood portrays.

PHILOSOPHY

I aspire to live for the present moment, accepting the now unconditionally, going with the flow of life, never resisting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have had guests stay at my home and have really enjoyed meeting worldly, non-provincial people. I have also met some great, amazing people during my travels throughout South America.

The first few hours are the best, the feel out period.. then finding common ground.. and then laughing and learning. It's the best.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've both hosted and been a guest. One of the coolest things to discover is the subtle ways we all, all of us, are the same around the world.

Interests

Scuba diving, covering boxing for newspapers and websites, learning/speaking/singing Spanish, hiking, traveling, learning about new people, reading great literature and watching insightful, groundbreaking films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walked on a primordial glacier from the Ice Age in Alaska. My sister and I, walking gingerly on this slick block of ice, could hear/see the melting water flowing underneath our feet. I felt like we were sailing (not walking) into the Artic Sea with huge walls of ice sculpted by Mother Earth all around me.

Teach, Learn, Share

Currently desperate to learn the Spanish language inside and out, to be truly bilingual. I've taught aspiring journalists how to write/report, I've helped aspiring attorneys get into/through law school, and volunteered to coach 9 and 10 year olds on a basketball team.

In Colombia I will teach a course of legal English to attorneys.
