About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To wander, learn and share.

ABOUT ME

What can I tell you...!

I was born in the States, went to college in New York and decided to work in the wild field of advertising. I did strategic planning and social media strategy for a few years when suddenly I saw my entire life laid out in front of me. And that's when I realized I had to quit.

So here I am - 3 months out of a conventional job, doing a little soul-searching, learning, and practicing the things I'm most passionate about, embracing a little (or a lot) of uncertainty.

I recently completed a Yoga Teacher Training in Koh Samui, Thailand and plan to hop around the world teaching yoga while exploring the underbelly of cities and the tops of mountains.

I shoot photography (you can peak at my instagram @gabolletta for a taste) and also love to write. I have a harmonica but my skills are questionable - though I am always down for a jam session of any kind.

Love to meet people - so feel free to say hi!

PHILOSOPHY

I've got a few mantras.. these wise folks capture the sentiment...

"To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all." - Oscar Wilde

"All great changes is preceded by chaos" - Chopra

"Life the full life of the mind, exhilarated by new ideas, intoxicated by the romance of the unusual." - Hemingway

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently traveling - so hope to be hopping on some couches and sharing anything I've learned along with some good laughs.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch-surfed a few years back and had the most wonderful of experiences with hosts in Argentina. Besides that, consider me a rookie - I'm still learning the ropes.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies? Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of my favorites.

Music...anything and everything. Disclaimer - I'm actually horrible at recalling names or artists or tracks, but play the tune and I'll likely know. A few favorites... the Beatles, Beck, Belle and Sebastian, Paul Simon, I'm a sucker for oldies, jazz, soul, reggae, rock, the lighter electro/synth/swing stuff...

Books: The Dharma Bums, Brave New World, A Long Way Gone

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I feel really lucky to have done a bit of traveling.

I feel even luckier to havet met wonderful and inspiring people who knocked me out of my comfort zone. One amazing thing I've done?

...scaled some of New York cities bridges.

Teach, Learn, Share

Ah what can I teach...

I'm happy to share with you everything I've learned about yoga (we can do some practices together).

For photography tips and social media marketing I can also be of help.
