About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My modest objectives in life are to see the world, to understand everything, meet interesting people, write a novel someday and meet the love(s) of my life. But currently, it would be fair to say i''m kind of an unguided projectile...
ABOUT ME
I'm a journalism student and parttime journalist at the Dutch press agency ANP. Furthermore, i write reviews for a local popmusic-website (3voor12.vpro.nl/tilburg) and i try my luck at fiction (without much tangiable results so far, to be honest). Meanwhile, i hang out with my friends, visit concerts and enjoy other European cities as often as possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
First of all i enjoy good company and conversations more than anything else. As i don't have any big travelling plans at the moment, i would be very happy to welcome people here, show them around in Tilburg or other cities and tell them about Dutch culture and history.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've both encountered and provided plenty of couches so far, but CouchSuring.com is a terra incognita to me...Soon to be explored i hope!

Music, Movies, and Books
Some of my favourite movies are Dr. Strangelove, Gadjo Dilo, The Big Lebowski, Taxi Driver, Coffee & Cigarettes, Das leben der anderen, Dead Man, Wild at Heart, Memento, Lola, Patton, Amelie, Fight Club, Fargo...
I particularly admire the works of the Coen Brothers, Jim Jarmusch, David Lynch, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, the Coppola's (dad and daughter), Stanley Kubrick, Rainer Werner Fassbinder and many more.
In music, i also like the more independent minds: The Beatles, Beck, Captain Beefheart Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (just to name a few great B's!), sometimes metal (Tool, Anathema, Rammstein, System of a Down, old Metallica, etc.), jazz (especially Charlie Parker, Sun Ra, John Coltrane), stonerrock, blues, but also gypsy music, electrostuff (Daft Punk, T.Raumschmiere, Justice, Goose), catchy British pop/rock (Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys), garage rock (The White Stripes!), folk and classical music as long as it's not too frivolous...
And not to forget books: in fiction, i especially recommend Aldous Huxley, Umberto Eco, Michel Houellebecq and Dutch writers like Arnon Grunberg and Harry Mulisch. In non-fiction (philosophy, history, culture, et cetera) Arthur Schopenhauer, Friedrich Nietzsche, Ian Buruma, Oriana Fallaci and dutch historian Geert Mak are the first that come to mind...
It's very arbitrary, but you'll get some idea of my taste...
