ABOUT ME

Tim Holmes, an artist/philosopher, is the first American ever invited to give a solo exhibit in the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Russia, where three of his sculptures remain on permanent exhibition. Owned by some of the world's renowned peacemakers, his work transcends the art realm. Holmes created sculpture for the United Nations Peace Prize for Women and other international projects devoted to transformative healing. As a filmmaker he creates video sculpture using mystical poetry. His work focuses on human form, on gesture, and on the numinous moment: creating tender flesh out of metal, scribing sculptural poetry on skin, and birthing ideas to transform culture. He lives in Vienna and Montana.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got to do a few sculpture projects with Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa to assist his work to champion the rights of all people there- a bite of history with an amazing man!

As a figurative sculptor I have a deep knowledge of figure drawing and anatomy that I hope to share here in Vienna. Also I notice that much even official writing translated into English could use some accurate proofreading, which I am good at.
