ABOUT ME

My best friends sometimes joke that I'm like a "shark"....because if I stop 'swimming' (e.g. traveling/discovering/wanderlusting)....I'd die. They would immediately warn you about my intense laugh and boundless energy. I have a deep love for meeting new friends and falling into new cultures. That's why I always prefer to meet up with locals and backpackers when I travel, whether it's through couch surfing, AirBnB, hostels, friends of friends, regular BnBs, or even stumbling into strangers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have to admit that I went M.I.A. for a bit from the official Couchsurfing website, but that doesn't mean I haven't been following the same route as fellow CSers. Most of my travels have involved hostels and/or bonding with locals once I get to a new location.

I have had the *incredible* opportunity to visit, live, and/or work in 39 countries now.

I have helped de-scale fish in a local market in Ghana.

I have caught a cod with just a fishing line from my sea kayak in the Norwegian fjords above the Arctic Circle.

I have seen moose born in my backyard while growing up in Alaska.

I have climbed the tallest mountain in Germany.

I have watched Mount Etna erupt on the island of Sicily.

I have danced the Samba in Rio during Carnival.

And I have practiced capoeira in the streets of Cape Town.

However....that is just the TIP of the iceberg....more to share over a coffee. ;)
