About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel with minimum environmental impact, meet as many diverse & wonderful people along the way as possible and to inspire & be inspired by others!(and to remind people that too much flying is destroying the biosphere!)

ABOUT ME

I now live in SE London and would like to repay the Karma from my last trip (as follows) ..........I'm currently traveling in South America with my girlfriend Colette. We came across the Atlantic on a cargo ship to get here and are thinking about sailing back to reduce the carbon emissions of this trip! I teach environmental education to children in the UK, and am involved in a lot of climate change activism.
We'll be doing some voluntary work along the way, and are hoping to work on some organic farms. I also DJ, and am looking for bars/clubs/festivals to play at along the way.

PHILOSOPHY

If something is unjust in the world, don't believe that it can't be changed. And as Ghandi said: 'Be the change you want to see in the world'. Man-made climate change is the biggest threat facing humanity and the world - we are on the brink of climate chaos, near the point of no return. So I am here in South America, trying to do as many presentations, film showings and just talking to as many people as poss along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By trying to travel in a low impact way, and meeting as many people as possible along the way to have fun and share ideas. As we`re currently on the road, we cant offer a couch just yet. However, once we`re settled back in the UK, we'll be looking forward to hosting fellow couch surfers!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Buenos Aires has treated us well in terms of couch surfing. Hopefully we'll continue to have a good CS experience here.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Tried to shut down a coal-fired power station on a home-made raft, brandishing a plastic pirate sword. Unfortunately the police boat was a superior vessel to say the least, and we were swiftly apprehended.
Oh yeah, did I mention we crossed the Atlantic on a Freighter ship to get here?
