ABOUT ME

We are retired from the mainstream but certainly not from what counts. we love to travel and do something useful while we are there, so volunteering is a natural progression. when at home we love golf, gardening, being weekend Loyalists, and entertaining.

PHILOSOPHY

We want to share our life with all comers and feel everyone has the right to be whom they are. it would be really nice if we were all more tolerant and accepting of each other.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have volunteered our barn in Nova Scotia and hope to have many surfers come by for a visit and a chat.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First couch surfing experience will be next week in Israel.

Interests

We enjoy sports, and all creative outlets especially writing and making things either through wood or fabric or wool. We love astronomy, our deck is a popular viewing spot on a clear night. we enjoy golf and participating in the Loyalist activities of nearby Shelburne.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of our favourite movies include Mamma Mia, Casablanca, Tombstone and The Way we Were. Books include all who dunnits, nothing like a good murder to get your mind off things. Robert Palmer is a favourite to exercise to and dance down a deserted beach!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Shirley hired a prison gang to create a walkway for children in the village of Wum in Cameroon; Alan had his watch picked up by an elephant and returned to him.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning languages through direct people contact. My Hebrew needs more than Shalom and mozeltov! I can teach you how to write backwards!
