To meet new people, learn from others, share experiences :)
Couchsurfing is a way to avoid money's economy, it's a sustainable way to travel and an awesome opportunity to meet locals, and feel the energy of the city/country. I think that's the best way to truly know any new place!!!
Locals are the best to show you its own country by their own view :)
