About Me

Update: The last years have been very stormy related to health, and I'm not hosting when I don't feel fit and strong enough. But please try your luck, I always give answers and if it's fine you may find a cosy couch for free here (:

INTRODUCTION - Some facts which are good to know
* My membership here is not active all of the time, so in some phases I can't answer also if I wished to - I'm really sorry about that. But the time when it's active I answer every single message! Just try it, nothing to lose (:
* Some people ask me for a couch, cause they think we live directly in Vienna. From our town you need about 35 minutes to the city center (by train). During the night the public transport is sleeping and during the day it goes once or twice every hour.
* Normally I can host people for just ONE night, exceptions are possible.
* Sometimes I've not so much time to share but I always try to save every hour and minute that I find for my guests (:
* Dear Couchsurfers, I think it's a gesture of courtesy, when I take time to answer your request with a lot of empathy and I give you insights in my very private life (to f.e. explain the reason why it's difficult to host you on day xy) or when I write loong texts with Insider tips in Vienna and Co. tailored just for your interests - to at least donate me a little word like "Okay" or "Thanks" or even "Blubb". If not, I get the feeling of.. like I was writing with a computer or I've been (mis)used just as a hotel/a building with no soul or you wrote one of those mass messages. And I think this is not the real spirit of Couchsurfing!

You know the little "I am Me" from Mira Lobe? You should: It's a colourful creature, walking through landscapes, woods, fields, meadows
composing poetry, singing,
meeting different creatures and learning by them,
open-hearted, always looking for it's identity...

Finally it is happy to find it (: and grateful for all the encounters, and experiences, that made it like it is and always was.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For one reason I want to help people to save their money - Life is expensive enough, if there is a free place to sleep you shouldn't pay for hotels and better spend your coins for discovering Vienna and Lower Austria (:

Another, even more important reason, is interpersonal. I think there is no better way to get to know new people, than this: To spend some time with them in a homely environment. It's indescribable fascinating to listen to their stories, to join their hobbies, to learn so much about the world or special talents, to cook and eat together maybe things I never ate before. And sometimes friendships are born, which I now never want to miss again.

Also it's a great way to keep my languages alive or reanimate them ;)

Interests

i'm a lover of words (active & passive: conversations, languages, play on words, books, poems..)
of music (listening, feeling, experiencing, playing, dancing)
of movements (walking, hiking, running, climbing.. Sports like martial arts, team & ball sports)
of the nature, sure (:
of creative expressions (drawing, photography, creating or admire something)

dotdotdot.. open for new inspirations! :D

Music, Movies, and Books

Reggae; Hip Hop; Trip Hop; Alternative, Prog, Industrial; Folk, World; Classical; Sound underlays; Punk, Funk, Crossover..
Okay however, I see the list can be endless. Music is at least a passion, it accompanys me since my time before birth ;) If you play instruments too, maybe we can do a little jam? Or listen to our favourites in national language?

When I'm watching a movie, i often lose myself in details. i fall out of the plot. But there are times, i like to watch trivial, easy films too. I have one of this "1.000 xxx you have to do before you die"-books, and the project is to watch all 1.000 or no, not all of them cause I don't want to die anytime soon ;) We could watch one of the classics together, if you want?

I read a lot of novels when I was younger, stories, also poetry.. yes they were good and I enjoyed it. But during the last few years I mostly read non-fiction literature, about things I'm interested in. Any recommendations? You can take out every book you like from our bookcase and taste it (most of them are written in German)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in hospital for some months, completely isolated, already with the body weight of a small child, and thought this is my direct way now to the afterlife, I made the experience of "minimalizing". I recognized deeply that Mr. Death is always there, waiting patiently in a corner, but not in a negative way. Just to say: You can feel my breath, yea? Can you feel the air filling your lungs too? So this means you're still here and as long as you're breathing your chance of making more experiences exists. But how hard life might be - Minimalizing means for me: You always can say "At least I'm alive!!". And if there is even ONE good moment every day - that might be your fuel for the next 24 hours (: Sure thats hard stuff, but it's the essence of life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Laughing, if there is something we can laugh about, wherein i'm quite sure at. (at least a little smile ;))
Oh I can share tea and cookies, if I have enough time to bake or buy it ;) (at least i always have water and crispbread to offer)
