About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I like learning about people: where they have been where they are heading...??

ABOUT ME

I am currently traveling the globe with my girlfriend of the past 3yrs. We started of in Malaysia on the 4th of May 2009. We have been slowly making our way through SE Asia coming through Malaysia into Thailand, Laos, Cambodia (which we loved) and Vietnam.
When im at home i love everything sport. But since traveling it has been put on the back burner for learning about different cultures and values. We like to volunteer or pick up work in some of the cool little places we visit, and try to do things as cheaply as possible where we can.
We are both happy-go-lucky people with a why not attitude. We enjoy good company and sharing stories with friends old and new.

PHILOSOPHY

live and let live, die happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate by 'sharing and caring'. 'Sharing' when im at home, my couch and what i have to offer of the beautiful town of where we live. 'Caring' about the persons home that i enter and learning about there experiences and way of life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Having CouchSurfed only a few times on our trip so far it has been amazing. From staying with a host which was hosting many other CS's at the same time, getting to know many different people from all round the world under one roof. To having our own private shack in the middle of Siberia, to being made part of the family in Moscow, its all a great experience that you never forget.

Hosting at home was a great experience; to meet someone you don't know and welcome them into your home, show them around your local area, and make a friend so easily is something you dont forget, and makes you see how open the world is if you open up to it first. (It is great to see your town through the eyes of a first timer, over and over again. Always reminds you how lucky you are)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We climbed Mnt Kinnabalu in 1 day. It started to rain near the summit and to watch mother nature at work was something special. The granite rock face we just climbed up was channeling water so fast into a rapid that would drag you away if not for holding onto a small piece of rope. The dirt, rocky, track we had walked 90 mins before had turned into a knee deep river. The cold and wind made it hard to feel your feet and hands.
We were unsure if we were going to wait it out in a safe house, our guide said we will keep going down. At the base 4hrs later we were relieved and happy.
Mother nature is beautiful.
