About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live, Love, Learn

ABOUT ME

I promise I am not an exciting person. I have tried to love an exciting life, but I have failed miserably with each attempt. I don´t particularly love crowds or loud music unless it´s really good music. I prefer long walks to drunken nights and would generally choose playing cards over a night of dancing. (Though I do occasionally love to dance.)

I like quiet cafes and coffee dates. I am a creature of habit and will almost always order the same thing when returning to a restaurant. While I would love the exhiliration of bungee jumping, I am petrified of heights along with falling in love which I have done and now wrestle with a whole new assortment of phobias.

I love meeting strangers, but am most at home with close friends and family. I´m not afraid to try new things or experience new cultures which I feel makes me merely open-minded and perhaps, sometimes, slightly adventurous. I´m really a small town girl, though I like what the big city has to offer. It has taken me years to realize that this is who I am and I will not succeed at changing it. Still though, occasionally I feel like I should want to get ´crunk´ every weekend (and occasionally it happens) and I even feel embarrassed that I´m not into it.

But like I said - I´m not an exciting person. I am just me. And after 26 years, I´m totally okay with that (most of the time). That being said, Jenga and Sangria anyone?

PHILOSOPHY

Cultivate your curves - they may be dangerous, but they won't be avoided. -Mae West

I never regret it when I do it.
I always regret it when I don't.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed all over the world, but now prefer the group gatherings from a hostel setting. I've also hosted individuals from all over the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met so many remarkable people through CouchSurfing. From lunches to drinks to menus in foreign languages. And I keep learning something new about other people, myself, the planet...all along the way.

Interests

I really enjoy theatre. I love to perform and I love to go to see plays, musicals, operas. Pretty much anything staged!

I read constantly. So please suggest a book! I also keep a journal and enjoy writing poetry and short stories. I have high hopes of writing a travel memoir some day.

Music, Movies, and Books

I will read pretty much anything and I'm not one to not finish a book. Though it has happened - ie Catch22. I just couldn't get into it. Sorry for those who love it.

Some things I couldn't put down?
Watership Down by Richard Adams
Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
David Sedaris - Any of his books
The Harry Potter Series

I love music. But I generally forget that there is constantly new music existing and tend to listen to the same things all the time. And most of those things are a good couple of years old. I enjoy Alternative, Folksy music usually. And tend to love live music almost regardless of the genre.

Unless you want me to bury my face in a pillow for an entire movie, please don't rent a horror film. I just can't watch the blood. But anything else, I'm game.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing the Great Wall in China was pretty surreal.

And I am always amazed when I see little old couples walking along hand in hand. Love impresses me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can brainstrom writing ideas with you and am always willing to share a word of advice or comfort. Whether related to writing or life. They are often one in the same.

I can make up some killer harmonies to your lead vocals and, if I do say so myself, I make a mean lactose-free cup of hot cocoa.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, China, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, France, Mexico, Netherlands, Nigeria, Panama, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In

Colombia, Ireland, Italy, United States
