CURRENT MISSION

to become more involved in my community, grow a garden, build furniture, go to live music, learn to surf, re-use and do things for FREE.

ABOUT ME

I like learning and knowing stuff. I'm super interested in trying to break the consumerist cycle - last year I didn't buy any clothes for a year and it was an interesting experiment and pretty successful. I try and find free stuff whenever possible and re-use things rather than buy new. I'm trying to grow a garden this year, I'm interested in nutrition and biochemistry and food security and I'm trying to grow my own food, buy local and support local initiatives whenever possible.

PHILOSOPHY

My dad says "do what you want, but whatever you do excel at it" which I think is a pretty awesome philosophy. I value honesty in people, which doesn't necesarily mean telling the truth but living truthfully, believing in what you do and commiting to it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I spent a few years travelling and now I've bought a house in Victoria. I'm trying to get more involved in my community of Fernwood and couch surfing but I'm mostly busy working and hiking/camping all the time! I'd like to host couch surfers but I need to balance my need for quiet at home as well after working all week.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to actually coachsurf from this website or host anyone; however I have had great experiences meeting people for drinks and activities while travelling the world. People have been genuinely friendly and helpful and willing to show me around their town. Hopefully I can return the favor.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I have sailed in locations all across Canada, a few in the states and in Europe. Everyday on the water is different and I love it.

When I think 'amazing things' what comes to mind is amazing views - the many oceans I have seen, the tops of mountains and volcanoes, the open desert, dense forest and beautiful starry sky.
