CURRENT MISSION
Bridging the Gap
ABOUT ME
Human life is a profound gift and with it comes a great responsibility to bring light to the darkness. To be a person seems to have an evermore changing definition, but there is still a deep human desire for communion, harmony and happiness. Personally, I'm interested in bridging the gap, in focusing on the common. We tend to take self imposed, human created terms and define our identities with them instead of putting the common human thread first and foremost. I'm looking to be inclusive in this life and observe it carefully, so travel must be a cornerstone for proper perspective.
*SUNDANCERS: Due to the overwhelming interest this time of year we are NOT ACCEPTING COUCHSURFERS for Sundance. Thank you!
PHILOSOPHY
Be that which you admire.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My couch is always open when I am somewhere. It's silly to hire shelter or transportation when there is an abundance to share. When I'm off and moving, I'm looking for farms to live and learn on. A place to get back to basics. In turn I hope to have a future hostel/farm/restaurant/home/community center.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Almost all positive. Things got a little weird in Alaska once, but nothing that doesn't make a good story later. I've had some hosts turn into life long friendships and I've hosted some sterling people.
Interests
Seeing the world through the eyes of a climber, feeling the momentum of riding a mountain bike, skiing steep powder, trekking far, writing and photographing the present, building something useful, growing something beautiful, cooking something delicious, sharing something meaningful.

Music, Movies, and Books
I hate to play favorites, that's just simple thinking. However, I insist my life has a soundtrack, if I watch a movie it's to laugh and if I read a book it's to gain some insight on life.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2009 I left the US with a one way ticket and a pack to Kathmandu. What ensued was a 20 month trekking, climbing, skiing, permaculture trip. The things I saw, the people I met and the realizations along the way just blew my mind.
Teach, Learn, Share
You'll just have to meet me, but in short: Demand the things you believe in. Resist the dominant paradigm. Live like you're dying because you are. Be respectful of everything. Gratitude and adventure have more to do with happiness than comfort and wealth. Stay close to nature.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A couch, a meal, local knowledge, mountain partner.
