About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get out an explore... mountains, rivers, deserts, music, langauges, people... all with a bicycle if I can!

ABOUT ME

I have a passion for humanity and freedom in the world. I want to be the minister for immigration.
I love exploring and learning new things. I am a friendly, outgoing and relaxed person. My favorite places are just above the ocean floor, inside a glacier, 2/3 the way up a climb called 'funky mother earth chick' in the Slocan Valley, and standing on a street lined with cherry blossoms.
I like to laugh. I love the jokes your dad tells.

PHILOSOPHY

To live simply, don't stress over the small things. Seize an opportunity when it comes to you, and be willing to give opportunity to others. Listen.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm about to disappear off overseas again, so you may find me knocking on your door

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Thanks to all those who have picked me out of the rain and cold!
I met an incredible Japanese guy at a pedestrian crossing, who ended up cycling to my house and joining my family for Christmas.
And thanks to all the couchsurfers who have stayed, yay!

Interests

I love the outdoors. Kayaking, cycle touring, rockclimbing, mountains, snowboarding, running, swimming.. this list could go on forever!
Mostly I love doing these things with good people, having a laugh, learing new things from them.
I almost joined a circus, but decided to be a sailor-ette instead.
I'm also interested in international affairs; what goes on in the world and why. Topics that make my heart beat are trafficking, war, and poverty.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies with a message, or arthouse films.
Australian music, Australian hip-hop, jazz, dub, indie, folk, garage, grunge. I'm open to it all.
The Life of Pi>> I reckon the bloke's story is believable.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working as a firefighter, I get to see and do some incredible things.
And to add another - working asylum seekers in Nauru and Manus detention centres. They are amazing people.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach...
just ask, we can talk about cultures, languages, war, AIDS, human trafficking. And how we can make a positive impact in this world.
I volunteerd as a teacher's aide at a primary school, so if you're a teacher, I'd love to come to your class. I am also an outdoor instructor, so I can lend a hand with various activities.
Firetwirling. Amazing.

Learn...
I'd love to learn how to kite-surf! And how to look after a garden. Some more skills on the trapeze.

Share...
A camp meal from my Trangia pot. Share some wine, some conversation. Share a conversation in another language.
