About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet everyone in the world one person at a time

ABOUT ME

I suppose I'm a bit of a wanderer. I tend to get itchy feet when I stay in one place too long. I love to experience new things and meet new people. That is really the part of traveling I enjoy most, the people I meet. I'm a laid back kind of guy, honest and direct in my approach towards people and I try to keep an upbeat view of things.

PHILOSOPHY

Its better to do than not do

Chris has been to: Afghanistan, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Belize, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, British Virgin Islands, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Cayman Islands, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Guam, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Laos, Lebanon, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macao, Macedonia, Malaysia, Martinique, Mexico, Monaco, Montserrat, Morocco, Myanmar, Namibia, Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, New Zealand, Norway, Palestinian Territory, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Sao Tome and Principe, Serbia, Serbia and Montenegro, Singapore, Sint Maarten, Slovakia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Tibet, Turkey, Turks and Caicos Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, United States Minor Outlying Islands, Vatican, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love it when people come to visit and I can play host. I guess through CS I will have the opportunity to play host to total strangers and meet all sorts of new people even when not traveling. When I am traveling I'm looking more towards the part of meeting locals or people who know the area well than I am for a free place to stay--although that is great as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hanging out in Cairo with a bunch of local CSs the night before they started their revolution, pretty amazing experience. Have had a lot of great experiences all over, though usually I do it just to meet locals or other travelers as opposed to actually couchsurfing

Interests

Travel (obviously), reading of old novels, sports such as tennis and biking. When traveling I like to be active and walking around or else I like to be at a cafe with a nice beer and hopefully talking to new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Big fan of classic literature and epics yet when it comes to movies just give me a junk action movie or comedy every time. Oh, but favorite book all time I have to say is Shantaram.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being in Iraq in 2007 was a pretty eye opening experience. It taught me a lot about morality and kind of reduced my belief in white and black and helped show me the gray of life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well as my professional job is procurement I'm not sure if I'll be of much use here. Let me know.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My wife and I have an extra bedroom with 2 twin beds that has its own bathroom. We have sheets and towels, we just ask you bring interesting travel stories.
