About Me
ABOUT ME
We're a Kiwi/American couple who have relocated to New Zealand after 4 years in the Czech Republic.
We've seen a lot of people who've written ''no couples'' -- we are a couple, but if we are traveling, we're not just looking to have a romantic weekend and use your home as a hotel. We want to meet people, and learn about your city.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting people on occasion, being hosted on occasion.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We've had quite a few experiences with CS, almost all positive. Hosting quite a few people in Prague, and staying with people in France, Umbria, and Wellington. Before joining CS we also hosted lots of friends, and we've had bands from New Zealand and Germany stay with us after their shows.
Interests
Studying languages (formerly Czech, now German), playing chess or Risk, exploring Wellington, going to the library, reading, coffee-drinking, watching documentaries, trying to find interesting old music. And, now that we're in Wellington, penguin-watching.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Czech New Wave movies (Daisies, Valerie and Her Week of Wonders, Report on the Party and Guests), Picnic At Hanging Rock/The Last Wave, Ali: Fear Eats the Soul, Badlands/Days of Heaven, Kind Hearts and Coronets, Dogville, The Wicker Man, Death Wish, Purple Rain, The Warriors.
Music: We live in the past, musically. Lots of 60's/70's Soul and Motown. Also, old Nigerian and Ghanaian music, old Ethiopian music, old British Folk music, old Country music, old psychedelic music, German music from the 70s, New York Hip-Hop from the 90s, Serge Gainsbourg and all his friends, David Bowie and all his friends, Pete Rock and all his friends, plus the Flying Nun record label... So, old music.
Books: Frank reads history books and fiction. The main ''hits'' of this year are ''Berlin Alexanderplatz'' by Alfred Doblin, ''Platform'' by Michel Houellebecq ''Ragtime'' by E.L. Doctrow, ''Never Let Me Go'' by Kauzo Ishiguro, and ''Radio Free Albemuth'' by Phillip K. Dick. Jo reads the history books after Frank has read them, and Agatha Christie on the bus. We like some Czech writers too, especially ''War With the Newts'' by Karel Capek, ''The Joke'' by Milan Kundera, and ''Valerie and her Week of Wonders'' by Viteslav Nezval.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When Frank was 13 years old, Bill Murray publicly told him off at a baseball game. What a jerk.
And we appeared on an (apparently famous) Japanese TV show about newlyweds around the world making breakfast.
