PHILOSOPHY
I'm getting into Taoism a bit, so: wu wei or the uncarved block way. I'm trying not to get in my own way of living in harmony with nature and not forcing things. Essential: go with the flow of the cosmos.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't hosted or traveled much but I hope to do more of both in the near future. I love the idea of people reaching out to each other through a common love of travel and promoting understanding and growth.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My best couchsurfing experience was hosting a crazy Aussie who has become a very close friend. Through him I've met some amazing people in Venice. Thus the benefits of couchsurfing abound and the social networking is awesome.

Music, Movies, and Books
Currently loving: Chromeo, La Roux, Amadou and Mariam and perennially: The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Otis Redding. But open to many other kinds of music.
Currently reading: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen for the millionth time.
Movies: I've been wanting to watch some Hitchcock and James Bond flicks lately. I like foreign films too but haven't seen many so please let me know your favorites!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent a month in India volunteering without friends or family. It was really strange and difficult to be so far away in a new place but I came out of the experience with a strengthened sense of self and an appreciation for our first world lifestyles. The architecture and art was breathtaking as expected, but I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth of the people. I would travel there again in a heartbeat.
Teach, Learn, Share
My knowledge includes many domestic arts like sewing, cooking, baking, crocheting, knitting, organizational stuff, lots of crafting generally. I love to do yoga and have been doing it for the last five years so I can impart some poses. Other useful knowledge: balancing a budget, gardening, bicycling, Feminist theory, figure drawing. I have some basic Spanish skills.
I would like to learn other languages, economics, history in other cultures, and everything under the sun. Ninja skills would also be awesome to learn.
