About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learning about others and at the same time learning about myself... and hopefully being a reasonable good Social Worker and therefore able to support people who are trusted into my team's and my care.
ABOUT ME
If you wanna know my best mates opionion, check my references :-). It adds me up pretty well.
In addition to that, my mate would call me open-minded, outgoing, respecting, dependable, a guy to count on even if you call him in the middle of the night, thoughtful, sometimes a tad chaotic (time is not by best virtue ;-), occassionally stubborn, tidy (at least outside my own room), sports-fanatic (even though I might not look it on first sight), adventurous, a partner in crime, decent conversational partner, a good laugh, somehow crazy (in a positive way though :-D) and I do announce myself by just being in the vicinity. That's due to my loud, heartful and apparently infectious laugh...
That's some stuff I can think off the top of my head. If you wanna know more, just inbox me :-).
Interests
I have a wide range of interest. This is due to my well-distinct enthusiasm which grabs me rather quickly.
I think the things that really grab my attention are daily life, interaction with other human-beings and trying to strive towards personal growth, a satisfying life, contributing to my community and leading a responsible life inmidst my fellow people.
Though following three major interests have been accompanying and impacting my life and personality quite a bit:
1. Badminton: My big love (in sports of course). I love playing the game (usually twice a week) and usually take along my racket, shoes and shorts in the spirit to get a match everywhere I travel. It is also a great way to get to know people. Unluckily, Im going through a "dry spell" currently since I am suffering from bursitis on my right knee which won't allow me to get on court... But time (and homeopathic pills and ointment) will heal :-)
2. Multiculturalism: This subject, which became an asired way of living to me, is escorting my life for the past 10 years. I got into it during my stay in South Africa. I was allowed to join in the life, work and prayer for about 18 months. A life-changing experience for me! Since then the whole concept of intercultural learning, cultural differences, how to manage a peaceful and appreciated shared life, north-south-divide, Fair Trade and many other topics coming with it, keep me busy.
3. Football: First of all, I never played football myself, but I somehow got into watching, reading and remembering about it. I closely follow the German Bundesliga and international games as well. I'm good company for watching or simply talking about it. And always eager to find out more fun or hard facts about the game :-).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Geeze, this is a difficult one. There are so many experiences, encounters or places that left me awestruck for a moment.
Very often it's just the small things like a very heartful laugh from an older person, a sincere gratitude, an exchanged smile on the streets even though you don't know each other or a given or received sign of support, care, appreciation and love.
I also discovered myself moved by testimonys. Just last week, I heard a young woman from South Africa telling her life story, the things she had to endure/deal with and how one persons presence and her own determination started to make a change in her life. So touching and inspiring.
So I am rather left awestruck (even if it only for a short period of time) by simple actions and signs which I encounter or notice.
